Just the tip of an iceberg…

RK’s definition of meditation (from 58 years’ experience):
the process of learning how to control the mind/soul (i.e., to rein it in) and its emotion/thought (taking its territory), to focus it, to concentrate and then finally learning how also to make it just shut up entirely and listen intently within (for that which this world knows nothing of), all in the essential context of learning how to control the breath by learning its electro-chemical language (without otherwise unhelpful overt muscular control), after completely relaxing with a comfortable posture (back straight, head aligned), though remaining perfectly alert, always remembering to discriminate between imagination & true perception (keeping imagination silent and perceptions shelved for later thought), continuing ever deeper & higher within, toward being and knowing far beyond existence and thought entirely.
[Excerpted from my new book (Chapter 8, As Above So Below) titled, The Emancipation of Astronomy for the Common Man.]

The definition of a soul (for clarification, which is not the supposed mystery they would have you to believe):
emotion and thought (from which springs imagination), the seat of the will and ‘where’ the ego is (an ambassador of the brain and mistakenly vaunted as “necessary self-awareness”) which it best serves as only an appendix - selah - (You won’t find this in any dictionary or encyclopædia, including Wikipedia, where I won’t post anything of my own.)

Go within, or go without, in every sense of that phrase.
