A place in you

     Inspired by "Stoned" by Dido

There's a place in you I could talk to,
if only you were there listening closely,
but I can't find you there, in that place,
that place in you where all is quiet…, shhh...

High crescendo of emotion unimaginable
until right moments when we really see,
when we really see each other undistracted,
unsidetracked by perception locked in flesh.

The place in you I find you not. Where are you?
I call out from my place there to yours,
the same place I hope to find you soon.
And remaining, I wait, listen and watch...

so hoping to see you finally hear & find
crescendoes far beyond crescendo down
that find perfect union beyond all doubt,
no illusions to draw us away, ever down,

not now, not now...

Deeper Issues

     (I've moved on...)
          [Inspired by Dido's music &
            the Moody Blues' "Melancholy Man"]

Too many shadow 'issues.' - Yes, I have issues
(while I look down at my shoes).  - Really?
Too many empty issues, not enough depth.
Yes, I have issues, but this outstrips them all,

deeper issues, 'lost' in the ancient, mystic current.
I would help you, but the world's no place for that.
I've been long here, no one noticing... ever.
Don't call me reticent, only never heard, within.

I tell others emotion should not rule the day,
but it is all that rules mine, terribly balanced.
My knife's sharp, surfing pioneering edge of life,
knowing exactly what I feel, and what I remember

I will never forget until time's end, most welcome,
tears wiped away, great comfort now unknowable,
this time not felt like the old, tattered, sad tragedy.
I've moved on where I've seen none follow,

again, beyond the beyond, past ramparts' pinnacle within...

Just Like Romeo & Juliet

     (Remember the song?)

'Nobody knows da troubles I've seen.'
No one knows how long I've been here.
Just like Romeo & Juliet, no one knew me there.
Just like no one knows me here, and never will.

Just like Romeo & Juliet, not wanting to be here.
Just like Romeo & Juliet, I've always wanted out.
Just like Romeo & Juliet, just like Romeo & Juliet.
Just like Romeo & Juliet, just like Romeo & Juliet.

Cenotes ('the time's coming')

Inspired by "Mea Culpa" on Enigma's album "MCMXC a.D."

Sixty-five million years, one cenote circle, bubbled caves deep.
Mea culpa. - What now? - Another's on its way, this year, down.
Nothing we can do, worldwide tsunamis, devastated shores,
bodies far out to sea in high waves of heavy impact, face down.

Cenotes, the Maya dumped bodies there, polluting aquifers.
Intelligence outstripped understanding in tragic downfall,
hearts still pumping in 'priest's' hands (listen), casting heads down,
bloodthirsty, false gods, power, dark crimson rivulets running.

Cenotes, signs of impact, no gods to worship, obsidian black blades
cutting out beating hearts upon staired ramparts of dire designe.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gone now, nothing of note, except astronomy and fractals.
Even JPL, a competitor of accuracy, planets and galaxy.

Stars awash in exact planetary placement, future known.
Nothing we can do, galactic accretion disk darkly crowded.
So we watch skies, waiting, many unheeding, speeding this way.
Sri Lanka next hard target, unseen, as new, black comet nears.

Cenotes, history of impact, nothing noted, this one dismissed,
one from far beyond Kyper Belt and Oort cloud, blazing, hurtling,
Comet ISON its ambassador, also blazing beyond 140,000mph,
no one, nothing left, on one-third of Earth's surface utterly gone.

As we watch again, two more, blazing hard behind, approach,
two thirds of Earth left to address, hard appress, trembling for impact,
Sri Lanka only first note of intended doom, awaited for millennia,
astronomers scrambling, telescopes busy, whirring wheels in slew, far late.
